Nick and Simone Stanford welcome you to relish their home and venue at Olive Rock for your special occasion. An elegant and modern building in a warm and earthy space, located on a farm at the foot of the Witzenberg Mountain range with the Breede river running past the front lawns. It’s a dreamy location where you can be your true selves and focus on what your day is all about, without having to worry about the formalities as they unfold seamlessly around you.
Chef Nick will create an unforgettable delicious meal and Simone will ensure a stress-free and meaningful experience for you from day one. Intimate ceremonies are held in the beautifully manicured garden or in the plush grassy part of river bed. Thereafter, friends and family catch up with each other, challenged by lawn games or get magically mesmerised by sounds of live music and the breath-taking views while the sun slips away. You have a choice between a starry, open-air reception on a balmy summer’s night or the shielding romantic lines of our Bedouin tent for the cooler nights, both softly lit with a necklace of fairy lights.
Your guests, no matter where in the world they are from will love exploring the Tulbagh and Ceres areas – with Ceres Ziplines, wine tasting at the local wineries, horse-riding, golf, hikes along rivers – there is so much for them to experience – ideally what you expect from a destination wedding venue. There are a vast number of really special accommodation establishments – some in orchards on farms and some on mountain sides with spectacular views, and enough for your wedding party to stay close to Olive Rock.
I’ve been putting off emailing you guys just because I don’t want to believe it’s all over. Thought I’d be a better employee when I got back after all things wedding, but turns out I’m actually worse because I just daydream about how flipping unbelievably amazing it all was. I don’t think there will ever be enough thank you’s for you guys. The compliments about the venue, setting, ambience and the FOOD, my goodness, the FOOD, are still flowing in. Thank you for being so amazing from day 1 and making the whole process so easy, fun and exciting. We couldn’t have been luckier. – The DeWets
Bartholomeus Klip is an all-round tourist destination, offering luxurious accommodation, fine dining, nature drives, cycling, hiking and water activities. Accommodation includes three options: full-board at the Farmhouse, or self-catering at either Wild Olive House or Heron House. The Farmhouse is furnished with a fusion of Victorian antique, farm folklore and contemporary designer pieces, and is upmarket and exclusive, but informal. The restaurant is central to the BK experience: resident chef Louise Gillett and her team serve fine dining inspired by locally sourced produce in an intimate, private atmosphere. BK’s location is unique, and versatile enough for any guest to wind down and relax, or get out and explore. Part of a working sheep and wheat farm, surrounded by a pristine nature reserve and looking out onto the Limiet Mountain range, the picturesque villages of Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West are only 20km away.
Spent a 3 night end of vacation in the BL Farmhouse and was blown away, from the reception by staff to the fact every need was catered for this is just a totally chilled place. The fine dining was super “Fine” and nothing was missed and the little touches really did make this place special. Beautiful rooms throughout, quiet corners and luxury abound, oh and did I mention the staff? They were what makes this place from Leslie all the way down and back up. Too many nice things to say, so if you want some “Gucci” quiet time, this is the place to do it. – Simon & Shirley
Kalmoesfontein is the home of AA Badenhorst Family Wines on the slopes of the Paardeberg, 1 hour from Cape Town CBD. As a venue it literally wows guests – with separate cottages for both parties to get ready; a diverse range of options for ceremony settings; a few terraces with stunning scenic backdrops for drinks and photos – anything is possible. Our back stoep reception area seats 120 and by adding a stretch tent we can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Our cottages can sleep the family or bridal parties; the Silo is a perfect Honeymoon Suite and all guests can be shuttled to and from the farm or a glamping campsite can be set up outside the cellar. The creative crew of locals and extended family can help customize your big day with sustainable decorations, local flowers, and hand made everything. The team can take care of all your logistics, help you plan your itinerary and overall exceed your expectations.
AA Badenhorst farm took our breath away from the very 1st step we took onto the porch. The hospitality blew our minds, we felt at home and as if we were part of the family. The planning was a breeze. Without even asking they did everything from planning, quotes, road trips to Paarl, collections and flowers. Our dream wedding became a reality on this farm. The set up was exquisite and our guests were so happy with the accommodation and the setting is beautiful. My top referral for a venue & accommodation by far. – Elani & Dewald Malan
