A belated note to thank you for helping to arrange the most perfectly wonderful wedding celebration for Oliver and Anna. Everything was completely perfect and without your help and amazing attention to detail, together with the fabulous team on site none of this would have happened. Absolutely everyone who attended the wedding was completely blown away by not only the venue but also the attentiveness of the staff. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble for any staff at the Royal Portfolio properties. A million thanks again Chantell for everything you did to ensure such incredible memories of Oliver and Anna’s wedding day. – Gail Watkins

Our artist daughter had her Steampunk themed wedding reception at On The Rocks on 23 February. Right from the start it was painless and relaxing discussing details with Claudia. Everything went smoothly, the waiters were efficient, friendly, enthusiastic and attentive. We were discreetly kept informed of the drinks tab and even a guest asking for another helping of calamari as dessert did not phase them! The cocktails and canapès were superb, as were all choices on the set menu. The lamb shoulder (not on the regular menu) was absolutely outstanding. We were blessed with a beautiful day and the view from the restaurant of course stunning. Prices were reasonable- third daughter to get married and the best experience of all. Coupled with the talent of Andre at Purity Flowers, who gave the theme absolute justice and enthralled us with his beautiful flowers and decor, it was a magnificent day. – Kimberley

But many choose to do it all here at the rocky outcrop. The rustic setting is spectacular and unique and can accommodate up to 150 guests – open-air on the rock ledge overhang, or under our roofed area, where you can dance in the firelight beneath the stars.
From the foot of the massive sandstone slabs overhanging the rough-hewn, wooden tables, guests have a vista of rolling countryside with the Jakkals River running through it. Our buffet menu offers a local fusion of traditional slow-cooked Sandveld cuisine and fresh seafood and gives you a West Coast food experience. To say that we were absolutely overwhelmed with how amazing everything was, would be an understatement! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so so SO much for all the hard work and incredible buffet!! We were completely blown away, and the whole day was better than we could’ve ever dreamed…And every single guest agreed. Thank you! – Chanel & Steve

Couples travel from all around the world to get married in Cape Town and experience the beauty, the extraordinary pleasant weather and diversity it has to offer.
Two of the most popular wedding venue settings in the Western Cape are wine estates and near the ocean. There truly is a perfect venue for every couple. Just make sure to book your venue at least a year in advance, especially if you plan to have your wedding during the summer months (September to March) or on a popular long weekend. Consider having a weekday wedding in a less popular month to avoid peak season prices.
Once you have chosen a breathtaking venue it will be much easier to turn it into your envisioned perfect day. But there will be restrictions that will nudge your decision towards the right place.
What is the capacity of the venue?
Are they available on your preferred date?
How far would your guests need to travel?
Is there accommodation nearby?
Is there a Plan B in case of cold/rainy weather?
Most venues offer different wedding packages so keep an eye out for them to see what is included. Make sure you understand the fine print and the after hour charges. Open and clear communication between you and the venue management team is crucial to ensure both parties understand requirements and preferences.
