Concept Food Catering was founded by Neil van Zyl in 2018. He worked in some of the top establishments in South Africa brushing arms with some of the best Chefs. He traveled abroad through Ubuntu to work in the prestigious 5 Diamond Awarded Breakers Resort in Palm Beach Florida. In the hotel, he worked at various restaurants but fell in love with banquets.
With all the love and passion for the industry Concept Food was born. Although a young company, it’s taking the catering industry by storm offering personalized menus for any size or type of event. They take extreme measures to make sure that you as a client are happy and rest assured.
Concept food was very easy to work with and helpful throughout the whole process. Neil was so accommodating, responded to all my questions and emails swiftly and made sure we were absolutely happy with our food choices. James, you and your staff were AMAZING! The catering at my daughter’s wedding was exceptional. Every guest complemented us on the delightful canapé’s which was substantial and each more appetizing that the bite before. The Beef Fillet was tender and that dessert was everything a dessert should be. Add to this the professionalism, exceptional service and the confidence you instill! Johnny Hamman and Marius Uys met each other on the set of Kokkedoor (South Africa’s most popular reality cooking series) in 2014, got on like a house on fire and dreamt up Slippery Spoon Kitchen as a way to bring their signature menus and unique food experiences to their discerning culinary audience.
Their love of food and travel keeps them on top of international cooking trends and inspires their craft. Johnny and Marius’s knives are sharpened, their fridges are stocked and they can’t wait to create a spectacular menu for your next special event.
Luigi and I wanted to reach out to you and express our sincere appreciation for creating such an amazing menu for our wedding. From the delicious and interactive canapes to the bibimbap/ostrich mains to donut and gelato dessert (not to mention the yummy Friday braai!), our guests were raving about how fun and tasty everything was. It was equally as special having so many Korean/South African influences in our dishes. Korean food truly is near and dear to our hearts (you should have seen me chow on Kimchi this past weekend!) and brings back lots of fond memories for the two of us. Zest Catering has been operating for over 15 years. We are based on the Beaumont Wine farm in beautiful Botriver and are passionate about food, wine and our local area. Zest caters for all kinds of events and is known for their unwavering attention to detail.
Each event is handled individually and we work with clients to create a unique menu that is customised to their specific requirements. Our passion is to use local ingredients as far as possible, supporting many regional fruit and vegetable farmers as well as producers of free-range and artisanal foods such as cured meats, speciality cheeses and hand-crafted breads. We offer a wide range of cuisines and styles and encourage clients to get involved in choosing the menus to create the perfect dining experience.
We also keep up to date with the latest food trends and pride ourselves in presenting our food in fresh and interesting ways.
