Lyall and Guy catered for our wedding weekend in the Cederberg in March 2019. They were an absolute pleasure to work with right from when we met to plan the catering, through to their professional, supportive and friendly presence throughout the wedding weekend. The food was not only incredibly delicious, they really went above and beyond – the food was beautifully presented and the team were friendly and supportive to all our friends. At one stage on the Sunday morning, when the generator was down, they were boiling water on the fires to make coffee for 100 people, and they had huge smiles on their faces all the while. Talk about having an incredible attitude to life! Lyall and Guy and their team were an absolute dream team, we couldn’t have had more awesome caterers, food and team of people at our wedding. Thank you so much. – Mary and Ben

We recently got married close to Cape Town and The Flying Pan was an incredible discovery! We were planning a small, intimate affair and wanted a private chef to prepare a delicious evening meal that would spoil our close friends and family. Matt was friendly, helpful and accommodating from the first moment we made contact and he and his team worked so hard to create a menu we and all our guests LOVED. On the day, he quietly and calmly set himself up in the small kitchen of our non-traditional venue, went about his work… and created MAGIC! Everything was delicious and we had nothing but compliments from all our guests. Thank you Matt and team! – Vanessa & Chad

Luigi and I wanted to reach out to you and express our sincere appreciation for creating such an amazing menu for our wedding. From the delicious and interactive canapes to the bibimbap/ostrich mains to donut and gelato dessert (not to mention the yummy Friday braai!), our guests were raving about how fun and tasty everything was. It was equally as special having so many Korean/South African influences in our dishes. Korean food truly is near and dear to our hearts (you should have seen me chow on Kimchi this past weekend!) and brings back lots of fond memories for the two of us. And another thank you for putting some of the canapes aside for Luigi and I, without it I’m not sure we would have been able to try them! – Carrie and Luigi

Your guests are looking forward to a spectacular meal and you naturally would not want to disappoint. Food plays such an important role at an event. Guests measure the success of an event to their culinary experience! Never skimp. Spoil your guests with freshness, tastes and colour.
Your wedding caterer will not simply suggest and supply the food. Depending on your caterer it could include coordinating rentals required, providing well-trained service staff for set-up, serving and the post-wedding strike.
Decide on your budget and serving preference first. A full service set menu perhaps with some à la carte options? Or more relaxed and social food stations or a mediterranean buffet to the table? Your caterer will be able to discuss the pros and cons of each option and suggest the best way forward to ensure your menu and serving style fit in with the style and atmosphere of your wedding.
Speak to your caterer about your budget and serving style, amount of guests, culinary preferences and dietary requirements. You can leave it in their professional hands to create a menu perfectly suited for you.
Caterers offer menu tastings. We highly recommend it! Why not go a for wonderful meal with your fiancé, pair some wines and enjoy the tastes and options. This will give you peace of mind and also expose you to some options you might not even have considered.
